One of the biggest challenges that teachers face is improving student engagement. Students are inundated with information all the time and breaking through in a meaningful way to reach students and help them gain the confidence and soft skills they need to succeed can be difficult. So we are pleased to introduce you to the United States Academic Esports League (USAEL).

USAEL harnesses the academic power of gaming to teach essential soft skills, spark a passion for technology, and explore a wide range of career and college opportunities in esports and gaming. By taking an education-first approach to esports, they are able to help educators boost engagement and academic performance with the best esports program for schools.

How Does USAEL Work?

USAEL is a K-12 esports program that leverages the growing popularity of esports to engage students in 21st Century learning. Not every student is sports-oriented, but esports levels the playing field, leading to a more inclusive learning environment. By unlocking potential in students who may not otherwise engage in traditional sports or school activities, their esports curriculum cultivates confidence and sharpens soft skills, offering a unique space for students to thrive and build positive gaming communities.

Benefits of USAEL

The United States Academic Esports League offers a variety of benefits, including:

Academic Curriculum

The USAEAL’s curriculum helps students develop a well-rounded understanding of STEM and esports careers while helping students develop essential skills that prepare them for the future, including skills like teamwork and communication, strategic thinking and problem-solving, resilience and perseverance, and leadership skills.

Career Readiness

The USAEL provides a variety of career readiness opportunities for students to complete internships, compete for scholarships, and access high-paying career opportunities. Internships are available to students with companies like Twitch, Blizzard, Microsoft, and Ubisoft.

USAEL Opens Doors of Success to Students

The majority of teens play video games of some sort, so it is increasingly important to teach them the benefit of healthy competition and have a positive influence on their interests and hobbies. The USAEL is made up of a team of educators who want students to get involved in their schooling, who may otherwise not be invested. Esports gives them an avenue to find an inclusive community where they can pursue their interests, while still under the supervision of the academic community.

Managed both by educators and esports veterans, the USAEL is a terrific way to connect teens to academics through their favorite hobby. Learn more: https://edcuration.com/1255/United+States+Academic+Esports+League
